Another crazy week, lots of movement. A couple of teams that I feel like should drop but couldn’t because the teams around them lost. Miami keeps dominating, Ohio St and Georgia were on a bye, thats your top 3 right now. Utah keeps looking good, started slow vs Houston but ended the game as the clear better team. That combined with Indiana looking poor again, and a BYU loss sees them jump to 4. BYU I will honor the head to head vs Notre Dame here, I thought BYU had beat the fraud allegations I’ve hit them with for 2.5 years, but when you beat a fraud (Notre Dame) you might still be one, and UCF proved that. Indiana I so wanted to drop but Texas Tech and Ole Miss both lost. Kentucky keeps looking dominant, enough to get them just above UCLA, who proves they can win with the new starting QB. Ole Miss almost gives Texas a 3rd straight 17+ point blown lead loss but they come up short in the end. The best 2 loss team to me right now. Alabama is another team I wanted to drop but everyone around them also lost so I am stuck with putting them at 11. Wake and Arizona are very close in my eyes, Wake has been just ever so slightly more dominant over inferior teams. Texas is back in the top 15, they show flashes of really good and flashes of really bad, often in the same half. SEC teams are a nightmare to rank right now. Texas Tech tumbles to Cincy, they’ll look to hop right back up vs Arizona. The lack of resume sees them behind Texas, and the lack of losses sees them ahead of the rest of the SEC teams right now. LSU, Mizzou, Florida, and Tennessee you can rank in any order and I wouldn’t argue with you at all. This is purely eye test and recency bias for these 4 teams. Houston puts up a fight to a tough Utah team, a bit of a fall off between them and the rest of the rankings I would say right now. Northwestern keeps rolling, blew out Rutgers but who doesn’t? Boise St still holds the best G6 team title, but that lead is slipping. I still think they have reached their ceiling. SMU is quietly navigating the ACC but still look weak to me for some reason. Oklahoma St smokes Colorado, Oregon win looks worse by the week and the Tulsa loss is still a big blemish. They have opportunities to climb still. And a debut in the NMP this week in New Mexico! Beautiful jerseys and a tough brand of football, eeked out a win over NDSU who is also a really solid team. Can they overtake Boise St for the G6 playoff spot?
